D. Frederick Helm, III
Owner
Frederick is the owner and President of Professional Planning Associates which he founded in 2001. He is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College with a B.A. in Spanish. Entering the insurance business in December, 1985, Mr. Helm is a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table and served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Life Underwriters, Richmond Chapter.
Community activities include Deacon, Second Presbyterian Church, Richmond, VA since 2016; Deacon First Presbyterian Church, Richmond, VA 1994-1999; Crown Financial Ministries Leader since 2008; Umpire – Old Dominion Umpire Association since 2016; Referee – Central Virginia Volleyball Officials Association since 2016, and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Man of the Year Candidate, 2011.

We provide you with suggestions to fill in the gaps so you can choose the products best suited for your situation.
If you’re satisfied with our recommendations, we work with you to implement your strategies and secure the required products and services.
We provide a secure online Benefits Portal to assist with the effective administration and communication of your strategic solutions including initial enrollment, Open Enrollment, new hires, and terminations.
As your financial situation changes, we work with you over time to monitor the strategies in place and their capacity to continuously meet your goals.
Our insurance professionals combine their education with their knowledge of the ever-changing insurance industry landscape to provide our clients with strategic solutions for their unique situations. All insurance professionals must pass comprehensive exams to obtain a license to sell products in your state.
Mr. Helm and Professional Planning Associates are licensed and appointed to sell insurance products in the following jurisdictions: Delaware, Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Virginia.
